UK Support Command Germany
United Kingdom Support Command (Germany) (UKSC(G)) exists, above all, to provide infrastructure support to 1 (UK) Armoured Division, to Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps and to other deployable formations stationed in Germany. It is also responsible for Anglo-German liaison and for relations with the German authorities from Federal down to local level.
The Command provides administrative support to elements of all three British Armed Services - the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force - serving across the length and breadth of Western Europe, in a wide variety of units large and small. This support includes schooling, medical care, housing, construction planning and social services and, in many ways, it equates to the responsibilities of civilian local authority in the UK.
As such, UKSC(G) is an almost unique Command in the British Army, embracing as it does a wide variety of roles which call for every kind of logistic, administrative, educational and welfare professional among its military and civilian workforce.
