204 Signal Squadron

204 Signal Squadron in Iraq

Welcome to 204 Signal Squadron and to this Website. We are the 4th Mechanized Brigades Signal Squadron.

Shortly after completing Operation TELIC 11 in 2007-8 the Brigade moved from Osnabrück, North Germany which had been its home for 17 years to its new home in Catterick. The Squadron currently resides in Gaza Barracks, Catterick Garrison.

The Squadron consists of four troops (a squadron headquarters troop (Abassia Troop), a support troop (Rhine Troop) and two communications troops (Alamein and Messina Troop). The two communications troops provide radio operators and the manpower for two identical headquarters. Each headquarters contains the following cells for the Staff to work from: G3 Operations, G3 Plans, Communications Operations, Equipment Support Operations, G2 Intelligence, ISTAR and space for attached units to the Headquarters such as Artillery and Engineers. These are supported by various Squadron detachments which provide administrative support such as catering, accommodation and vehicle and radio repair.
