Household Cavalry Regiment exercises Freedom of Windsor 08 July 2010

HRH The Princess Royal, Colonel of The Blues and Royals, takes the salute at Windsor Guildhall.
Officers and soldiers of the Household Cavalry Regiment exercised their freedom of Windsor with a parade through the streets on Saturday, 3 July.
250 members of HQ, A, B & C Squadrons returned from a six month deployment to Afghanistan in May this year and the parade celebrated their return. Sadly Lance Corporal Woodgate was killed in action during the tour.
HRH The Princess Royal, Colonel of The Blues and Royals, accompanied by General the Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank, Colonel of The Life Guards, and Her Worship, The Mayor of Windsor, Mrs Caroline Burnsall took the salute.
The Regiment marched from Combermere Barracks to the Guildhall where HRH took the salute. They they processed to Windsor Great Park via Park Street for a special Drumhead Memorial Service with families and friends.
The parade was lead by a mounted escort of four troopers from the Life Guards and four troopers of the The Blues and Royals preceding the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Harry Fullerton and his Regimental Staff, followed by A, B, The Band of The Blues and Royals, C and HQ squadrons.
D Squadron are currently training for their next tour in Afghanistan with 16 Air Assault Brigade and therefore weren't at the event.
