Operator Military Intelligence (OPMI)

As an OPMI you will pass out of your trade training (Phase 2) as a Lance Corporal. You will then be deployed worldwide as part of a small team. You will be working alongside and in direct support of all three Services and other government departments. Whether deployed abroad or based in the UK you will be employed either on vital real-time operations, or countering threats to national security. This role demands the highest level of commitment and embraces the full range of skills required in Army Operational Intelligence and Counter Intelligence.

Subject to aptitude testing, you will have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in Human Intelligence, Imagery Intelligence, Signals Intelligence, surveillance, IT security, interrogation, counter sabotage and you may work with special forces. The study of language to interpreter level is encouraged.
