The Intelligence Corps

The Intelligence Corps is the brains of the Army, processing data to help commanders make the best tactical decisions.

The Corps predicts what the enemy is going to do, while safeguarding our secrets and preventing the enemy from being able to predict what we are going to do. These core disciplines are Operational Intelligence and Counter Intelligence.

When their Ashford base was no longer large enough to support the new policy of Joint Service provision the Intelligence Corps relocated to Chicksands in Bedfordshire between 1995 and 1997.

The Intelligence Corps is now co-located with the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre (DISC) at Chicksands. The DISC is the UK Defence Agency responsible for training all service personnel in intelligence, security and information support.
