The Royal Regiment of Scotland
The Royal Regiment of Scotland is Scotland's Infantry Regiment.
We are fiercely proud of our heritage. Scotland has a tradition of producing courageous, resilient, tenacious and tough Infantry soldiers. The 5 Regular and 2 Territorial Army battalions of the Regiment offer a variety of locations and challenging roles with an exciting career for any young man.
The Regiment's Battalions are based in Canterbury, Germany, Inverness and Edinburgh and retain strong links with their local recruiting areas.
You can find out more about the Regiment on this page. Each of the 7 Battalions have a linked page on the left pane, where you can learn about life as a Jock, whether deploying to the battle by helicopter in the Air Assault role, by Warrior Armoured Fighting Vehicle, by boat or even by foot. There are always Jocks on the front line in Afghanistan, upholding the proudest tradititions of the Scottish Soldier. See our History pane if you are interested in learning about how Scotland has been producing the worlds finest soldiers since our first Regiment was formed in 1633.
Her Majesty the Queen is the Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
